HAPPY TURNAROUND TUESDAY!

There is a tremendous amount of attention being paid to the markets this week so I expect there to be a lot of money on the sidelines. In the Sunday Recap we took inventory of what to expect this week, and fortunately, things are settling back into reality. A day trader is focused on his/her hypothesis to gain an edge, and take what is given by the “invisible hand” that moves the market.

I expect a less than normal volatility today in MegaCap equities while we wait for the after-the-bell reporting of the following giants.

• $XOM – Exonnmobil, $PFE – Pfizer, $BABA – Alibaba, $UPS – UPS, $AMZN– Amazon, $GOOG – Alphabet, $EA – Electronic Arts, $CMG – Chipoltle Mexican Grill

MY RULES FOR TRADING ON DAYS OF EARNINGS IS TO NEVER GO ALL IN! Especially on a Tuesday, in early February. I PLAN TO TRADE ON VALUE STOCKS LIKE EXXON AND PFIZER BUT WILL ONLY BUY ON LIMITS UNDER CURRENT TRADING PRICE. THIS ALLOWS YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE UPSWING ON AN EARNINGS BEAT AND POSITIVE RETURN AND ALLOWS DRY POWDER INCASE OF A BAD TRADE.

Value usually shakes out when the MegaCaps have to removed their cloths (open their financials) so I won’t be trading any thing else this week. Still long crypto $GBTC, $ETHE, $RIOT, and EV stocks.

A review of last weeks trades confirms that 3x bank stocks in $FAS, and energy $XOP turned out to be profitable in the short-term. I’m going to hold for a few more weeks in the spirit of “Following The Fed.”
